Associate Director / Director, Clinical Budget Planning and Analysis

Purpose of Job:

Accountable for Clinical Budget Planning, tracking and Analysis for trials led by China COMs

Major Responsibilities

  • Proactively provide budget estimation for future clinical trials and the ongoing trials’ change orders
  • Track ongoing clinical trials spending, including but not limited to CRO professional fees and pass-through costs, SMO professional fees and pass-through cost, investigator site payment if not in the pass-through, lab fee, comparator fee, other vendors’ cost and BeiGene internal cost
  • Provide budget analysis for the ongoing trials and alert relevant trial COMs for any incorrect estimation, budget and expense
  • Establish budget estimation, calculation and tracking tool/system
  • Provide training and guidance on budget estimation, tracking and management to COMs
  • Maintain budget tracking database for trials led by China COM
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


  • Bachelor’s level degree or above in finance, life sciences or relevant
  • Six or more years of clinical research experience in the CRO or Pharmaceutical industry
  • Expert in clinical trial budget planning/ estimation, review and reconciliation
  • Experience in clinical contract/ finance department is preferable but not mandatory
  • Knowledgeable of GCP/ICH Guidelines and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working on a team across multiple functional areas
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking)
