Associate Director, GxP Training, Learning & Development


Department: Quality Assurance

Reports to (Title): Senior Director, Quality Management System

The Associate Director is responsible for implementing and maintaining a GxP Training Program, managing the Learning Management System for delivery of training material, tracking and monitoring trends to help BeiGene employees advance their skills and knowledge.  This individual should be passionate about helping employees learn and grow; help BeiGene succeed by training and developing its employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, annual performance appraisals and consultation with line managers
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, development and best practices
  • Deploy a wide variety of training methods
  • Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions
  • Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and ROI periodically and report on them
  • Guide and/or manage the creation/revision of appropriate Training SOPs
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing development
  • Coordinate with IT and functional heads to develop and implement Learning Management System (LMS) for delivery of training material, tracking and monitoring training compliance
  • Manage internal training program and coordinate and/or administer GxP training
  • Define metrics and measures for GxP training to drive assessment and continuous improvement
  • Participate in budget forecasting, planning and tracking; monitor and maintain activities to stay within budget
  • Provide coaching and mentoring of junior staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Core Competencies, Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • 5-10 years experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Prior experience in implementing Learning Management Systems, learning development programs is a plus
  • Proven work experience as a training manager
  • Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong presentation & communication skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic environment

  • Strong PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Licenses or Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Science or Education


5-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry


  • Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, etc.)
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
  • Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
