John V. Oyler co-founded BeiGene in 2010. He has served as CEO and has led the Board of Directors from the company’s start.
Mr. Oyler previously served as President and CEO of BioDuro, LLC, a drug discovery services company, from 2004 its acquisition by PPD in 2010. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Oyler served as CEO of Galenea Corp., a biopharmaceutical company discovering novel therapies for central nervous system diseases. From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Oyler was the President of Telephia, Inc., an information company he founded and ultimately was acquired by The Nielsen Company. From 1997 to 1998, Mr. Oyler was Co-Chief Executive Officer of Genta Incorporated (NASDAQ: GNTA), an oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company. He began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Mr. Oyler joined the Board of Directors of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) in 2019 and is a member of its Health Section Governing Board. He also serves on the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council. Mr. Oyler received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Stanford University. A native of Pittsburgh, he is an avid fan of the city’s Steelers football team and Penguins hockey team, and enjoys skiing and spending time with his family.
