Leadership & Board

John V. Oyler co-founded BeiGene in 2010. He has served as CEO and has led the Board of Directors from the company’s start.

Mr. Oyler previously served as President and CEO of BioDuro, LLC, a drug discovery services company, from 2004 its acquisition by PPD in 2010. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Oyler served as CEO of Galenea Corp., a biopharmaceutical company discovering novel therapies for central nervous system diseases. From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Oyler was the President of Telephia, Inc., an information company he founded and ultimately was acquired by The Nielsen Company. From 1997 to 1998, Mr. Oyler was Co-Chief Executive Officer of Genta Incorporated (NASDAQ: GNTA), an oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company. He began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Mr. Oyler joined the Board of Directors of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) in 2019 and is a member of its Health Section Governing Board. He also serves on the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council. Mr. Oyler received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Stanford University. A native of Pittsburgh, he is an avid fan of the city’s Steelers football team and Penguins hockey team, and enjoys skiing and spending time with his family.

Xiaodong Wang, Ph.D. is a co-founder of BeiGene and has served as Chairman of our Scientific Advisory Board since 2011. Dr. Wang has been on the Board of Directors since February 2016.

Dr. Wang is the founding Director of the National Institute of Biological Sciences in Beijing, serving since 2003, and became its Director and Investigator in 2010. He previously served as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator (1997-2010) and was the George L. MacGregor Distinguished Chair Professor in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas (2001-2010).

Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and B.S. in biology from Beijing Normal University. In 2004 Dr. Wang became a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences – one of the highest honors attainable by an American scientist – and has been a foreign associate of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2013.

Xiaobin Wu, Ph.D. joined BeiGene in 2018 and currently serves as President, Chief Operating Officer.

Dr. Wu previously was Country Manager of Pfizer China and the Regional President of Pfizer Essential Health for Greater China from 2009 to 2018. Under Dr. Wu’s leadership, Pfizer expanded its portfolio and organization, significantly grew sales, initiated innovative marketing programs, and established its position as a leading multinational pharmaceutical company in China. Prior to Pfizer, Dr. Wu served as President and Managing Director of Wyeth China and Hong Kong (2004-2009). Before joining Wyeth, Dr. Wu was General Manager of Bayer Healthcare in China (2001-2004). He started his career in 1992 in sales and marketing with Bayer in Germany.

Dr. Wu has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and pharmacology and a master’s degree in molecular biology from the University of Konstanz in Germany.

Dr. Wang joined in BeiGene’s early days, in 2011. Currently the Global Head of R&D, his previous roles in the company have included heading the Discovery Biomarkers, In Vivo Pharmacology groups and Clinical Biomarkers, and Translational Research. He was appointed as head of China Development in 2016, responsible for clinical development in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2019, he took on more responsibilities including global research, global clinical operation, and global biometrics.

Prior to joining BeiGene, Dr. Wang was the director of research at Joyant Pharmaceuticals, a biotech company based in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Wang received his B.S. in 1996 from Fudan University and Ph.D. in 2001 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his post-doc training with Dr. Xiaodong Wang at Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Julia Wang joined BeiGene in June 2020 and serves as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Wang brings extensive global finance experience across biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostic testing, and consumer products. She previously served as Senior Vice President, Global Business Finance, Corporate Finance and Corporate FP&A at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, and prior to that worked in various leadership roles at Quest Diagnostics. Ms. Wang previously worked for more than five years at Johnson & Johnson leading finance at several operating companies, including Xian-Janssen Pharmaceutical, J&J’s pharmaceutical business in China.

Ms. Wang holds an MBA from Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a B.A. in British language and literature from Shandong Normal University.

Graham Hardiman joined BeiGene in 2021 as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Human Resources.

Mr. Hardiman brings more than 30 years of human resources experience to BeiGene, having joined the company from Pfizer, where he served as a Senior Vice President of Human Resources and was responsible globally for talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, learning and development, and diversity. He previously was responsible for the HR team supporting Pfizer’s Oncology and Rare Disease franchises. Mr. Hardiman joined Pfizer from Wyeth and initially was based in the U.K., subsequently moving to Spain and the U.S. Prior to joining Pfizer, Mr. Hardiman served in various human resources roles for Siebel, Computer Associates, EMC, and Telefonica.

Chan Lee joined BeiGene as General Counsel in July 2022.

Mr. Lee previously worked at Sanofi from 2016 to 2022, where he served as North America General Counsel and Head of Legal for the Specialty Care Global Business Unit, responsible for the legal oversight of the company’s U.S. and Canada businesses and its global Specialty Care business. Prior to Sanofi, he held roles of increasing responsibility from 2008 to 2016 at Pfizer, most notably as Chief Counsel for Pfizer’s Innovative Health global business, and, earlier, as Chief Counsel for the Vaccines, Oncology and Consumer Health global businesses, and as Assistant General Counsel for Asia.

Mr. Lee earned his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley and his B.S. in applied economics from Cornell University.

Jason Radford joined BeiGene in 2020 and currently serves as Senior Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development, responsible for leading teams that support corporate and product strategy, alliance management, and business transformation.

Prior to joining BeiGene, Mr. Radford served on the executive leadership team of Genomic Health as general counsel, leading the global legal, regulatory, and compliance functions. Previously, Mr. Radford was on the legal leadership team at Life Technologies, now a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he was lead counsel of the Medical Sciences business division and supported strategic business transformation initiatives, including new acquisitions and business integrations.

Mr. Radford holds a J.D. and MBA from Boston College and a B.A. in political science from University of California, Los Angeles.

Clare Fisher joined BeiGene in 2021 as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Mergers & Acquisitions (ex-China), bringing more than two decades of healthcare experience in leadership roles including corporate and business development, M&A, and strategy.

She joined BeiGene from Kaleido, where she served as Chief Business Officer. She previously had been with Shire plc (now Takeda), where she most recently was Group Vice President, Global Head of Transactions and Business Development, and Interim Head of Corporate Development. Previously, she held senior roles in business development at Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Blueprint Medicines, and Genzyme Corporation.

Ms. Fisher holds a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Bath, as well as an MBA from Henley Management College in the U.K.

Yong has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to BeiGene, he has been engaged in business development work for AstraZeneca for over 11 years, participating in all key projects during the period, transaction types including product licensing, CSO collaboration, and asset divestment, M&A, and joint venture establishment. He has successfully facilitated various forms of business cooperation and introduced a variety of products through flexible transaction structures. The products include innovative large and small molecular drugs, mature products, traditional Chinese medicine, diagnostic tests, and medical devices covering multiple therapeutical areas.

Prior to this, he also served at UCB and Shanghai Ethypharm in strategy planning, business development, and project management. Yong holds a master’s degree in molecular biology from the Beijing bio-engineering institute and obtained his bachelor of Microbiology from Shandong University.

Jaspreet Jaggi, M.D., Ph.D. joined BeiGene in 2020 as Senior Vice President and Head, Clinical Portfolio Strategy.

Prior to joining BeiGene, Dr. Jaggi served in various leadership roles in clinical evaluation and clinical development for Novartis over some 10 years. Most recently, as Vice President and Global Head of Oncology Clinical Evaluation, he led the scientific and strategic evaluation for both the internal oncology pipeline and external innovation. Additionally, he spearheaded the scientific and clinical evaluation of business development opportunities, including the acquisitions of GSK Oncology, AAA, Endocyte, CoStim, and Admune, as well as strategic investments in CAR-T therapy and various in-licensing agreements. Dr. Jaggi also served as Global Clinical Program Head for Oncology Biosimilars, overseeing an integrated clinical development team across Sandoz and Novartis. Prior to Novartis, he served in various clinical development roles at Bristol Myers Squib and Pfizer.

Dr. Jaggi received his medical degree from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the Weill Cornell Medical College/Memorial Sloan Kettering joint program. He was a Ludwig Center for Cancer Immunotherapy fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Yang Ji joined BeiGene in September 2017 and is the Chief Compliance Officer. Mr. Ji is responsible for leading the company’s Healthcare Compliance and Privacy functions and programs globally.

Mr. Ji served in a progression of compliance leadership roles at BeiGene and was most recently the Head of Compliance for China and APAC. Prior to joining BeiGene, Mr. Ji was the Head of Compliance for Celgene China. In his earlier career, Mr. Ji had served in various leadership roles in the Compliance, Internal Controls, and Procurement functions at Pfizer and previous IBM. Mr. Ji has a deep understanding of healthcare compliance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, internal control and business operations from his diversified work background and is an active leader in industry associations related to compliance.

Mr. Ji holds a bachelor’s degree in science and an MBA both from Peking University.

Jonathan Liu, Ph.D. joined BeiGene in 2018 and currently serves as Chief Executive, Bio-Island Initiative, and Chairman of the Board, BeiGene Guangzhou Biologics, Ltd. Co. He joined BeiGene from Johnson & Johnson, where he served as Head of China Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing Sciences, responsible for its operations and drug development in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Dr. Liu spent more than 20 years in industry roles and led drug development projects in CMC, manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, and production facility management. He contributed to developmental milestones for ReFacto®, BENEFIX®, FluMist®, ACAM2000®, and 20 more drug products for Pfizer, Sanofi, AstraZeneca and Novartis.

Dr. Liu holds more than 20 patents in the U.S., Europe, Japan, Australia, and elsewhere. He holds Ph.D. and DVM degrees from Queen’s University in Canada and from the Hunan Agricultural University in China, respectively. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School in the U.S. He has served as a board member of the United States National Center of Therapeutics Manufacturing and various investment firms, biotech companies, trade organizations, and scientific journal review bodies.

Anand Reddi joined BeiGene in 2023 as Vice President, Global Strategic Initiatives and Chief of Staff to the CEO.

Prior to BeiGene, Mr. Reddi served on the executive committee at Adverum Biotechnologies as Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations.  At Gilead Sciences, he held strategy and operations leadership roles in emerging markets, medical affairs, corporate affairs, corporate and global product strategy, and digital innovation.  Mr. Reddi was instrumental in the launch of 12 blockbuster medicines at Gilead benefiting over 25 million patients in 140 countries.  He started his career in basic science, clinical research, and global health policy.

Mr.  Reddi serves on the board of directors of Hepion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:HEPA).  He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Colorado School of Medicine and was a J. William Fulbright Scholar in South Africa.

Michael Schoen joined BeiGene in 2017 and serves as Strategic Advisor and Special Assistant to the CEO.

Prior to joining BeiGene, he was Managing Director & Head of Latin America & Caribbean Debt Capital Markets for Scotiabank. Mr. Schoen additionally held leadership roles at Credit Suisse, DLJ, and J.P. Morgan in their respective Emerging Markets groups.

Mr. Schoen serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the HealthCare Chaplaincy Network, a global healthcare nonprofit organization that offers spiritual care-related resources and professional chaplaincy services in healthcare settings and online. In 2023, he was elected to the Board of Trustees for BioNJ, the life sciences trade association for New Jersey. Mr. Schoen holds a B.S. in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management.

Melika Davis joined BeiGene in August 2019 as Senior Vice President and Global Head, Clinical Operations. Ms. Davis has dedicated her career to transforming clinical trials, having built and grown successful global organizations that have brought 20 medical products to the market. Prior to joining BeiGene, she spent 15 years at Novartis leading its clinical monitoring operations group, and served most recently as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Drug Development Quality. Previously, Ms. Davis worked at Schering Plough for 13 years in roles of increasing responsibilities in research and development.

Ms. Davis received a B.S. in biology and an M.S. in molecular biology from Texas Women’s University in Dallas and holds a License de Physiologie from the University of Sciences in Nice, France.

Han Ma joined BeiGene in 2021 and serves as the Chief Safety Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Patient Safety. Dr. Ma brings nearly two decades of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, spanning pre- and post-market clinical safety and risk management with a significant oncology focus. Most recently, she served as Global Patient Safety’s Vice President for Safety Science and Epidemiology.

Dr. Ma’s broad experience across the product lifecycle bridges clinical development with safety in support of making innovative medicines available to patients globally. Prior to joining BeiGene, she spent 20 years at Roche/Genentech in leadership roles with increasing responsibility within clinical development, discovery and translational research, and patient safety. Notably, while at Roche, she served as Global Group Medical Director responsible for building and leading a safety sciences team in Shanghai supporting the whole Roche product portfolio in China and prior to that served as the lead for their global molecular virology and pharmacology group within the infectious diseases therapeutic area. Prior to joining the industry, she was a clinical oncologist for 6 years working directly with patients.

Dr. Ma earned a medical degree from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University and a Ph.D. in molecular pathobiology from the University of Southern California.

Mehrdad Mobasher, M.D., M.P.H., joined the company in August 2022 as Chief Medical Officer for Hematology. Prior to joining BeiGene, Dr. Mobasher served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Late-Stage Oncology Development at Zai Lab, responsible for the entire late-stage oncology portfolio. Prior to Zai Lab, he was the Chief Medical Officer at Corvus Pharmaceuticals, where he led the pipeline development in solid tumors, COVID-19, and T-cell lymphomas. Previously, Mehrdad spent about nine years at Roche/Genentech in a variety of leadership roles, including Group Medical Director and venetoclax Development Lead across all indications.

Mehrdad was also an adjunct clinical faculty member in the Division of Medical Oncology at Stanford University after finishing his post-doctoral fellowships in hematology and medical oncology there. He received an M.D. from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran, and an M.P.H. in general epidemiology from the School of Public Health at the University of Michigan. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.

Xiang (Tony) Guo joined BeiGene in June 2017 and is Senior Vice President, Global Statistics & Data Science. Prior to joining BeiGene, he was Senior Director, Head of Statistics, for the APAC region for Merck (MSD). He also worked for Sanofi, in both U.S R&D and China R&D, with increasing responsibilities in Statistics.

Dr. Guo graduated from North Carolina State University with a Ph.D. degree in statistics. He is also the deputy chair of the Statistics Committee of the China Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO).

Dr. Alex Shih-Min Huang joined BeiGene in April 2021 and is the Vice President, Head of Cell Therapy. He is an experienced leader of science and people with substantial proficiency in drug discovery and development. Prior to joining BeiGene, Dr. Huang had close to 20 years of industrial experience at Novartis, Sanofi, Genentech, BMS, and AbbVie, with increasing responsibility. During those years, he led teams and advanced programs through R&D milestones that span from target ID/validation to life cycle management. His pipeline experience encompasses diverse therapeutic modalities, including cell therapy, and targets broad biological space, including immuno-oncology, apoptosis, and B cell signaling pathways in both solid tumors and hematological malignancies.

Dr. Huang obtained his doctoral degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Rochester Medical Center and completed his post-doctoral training at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) in San Diego.

Dr. ChiChi Huang joined BeiGene in September 2019 and is the Vice President, Head of Biologics. Prior to joining BeiGene, Dr. Huang has over twenty years of extensive scientific and management experience at Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, with broad expertise in diverse therapeutic modalities, including monoclonal antibodies, peptides, fusion proteins, and vaccines.

Dr. Huang obtained his doctoral degree in Biochemistry from Tufts University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and completed his post-doctoral training at Harvard University Medical School.

Mark Lanasa, M.D., Ph.D., joined the company in February 2022 as Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer for Solid Tumors. Prior to joining BeiGene, Dr. Lanasa served as Vice President and Global Clinical Head, Late Development Oncology at AstraZeneca from 2019 to 2022. He previously held a number of positions at AstraZeneca, including Global Clinical Lead and Global Development Lead for Immuno-Oncology, Senior Medical Director in Clinical Development, and Medical Director in Early Clinical Development. Dr. Lanasa also worked as Senior Director of Clinical Development at Immunocore, where he contributed to the late-phase development of T-cell engager Kimmtrak (tebentafusp-tebn).

Dr. Lanasa earned his B.S. in chemistry from Pennsylvania State University, and both his Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular genetics and M.D. in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his residency and was a post-graduate fellow at the Duke University Medical Center, where was subsequently on the faculty in hematologic malignancies.

Dr. Yu Shen joined BeiGene in September, 2023 as Vice President, Head of Biology.

Dr. Shen is a highly experienced leader in oncology drug discovery with more than 20 years in the industry, and he holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following postdoc training at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Dr. Shen joined Abbott Laboratories/AbbVie in 2001, was inducted into Abbott’s esteemed Volwiler society in 2010, and advanced to Senior Research Fellow of ACoS (AbbVie’s equivalent of Volwiler society) in 2023. Throughout his tenure, Dr. Shen led multiple successful drug discovery programs, from target identification to clinical candidate selection and translational support.

Dr. Shen has in-depth expertise in cancer biology, including immuno-oncology, epigenetics, signal transduction, and tumor microenvironment. He brings extensive experience across diverse modalities from small molecules to antibody drug conjugates, nucleic acids, and more recently, PROTACs.

Zhirong Shen joined BeiGene in August 2015 and is Vice President, Global Head of Translational Discovery, Research and Medicine. He is an experienced leader in drug discovery, translational research, and development. Prior to joining BeiGene, he was Director of Metabolomics Center at National Institute of Biological Sciences, Beijing (NIBS).

Dr. Shen received his B.S. in 2003 from Nanjing University and obtained his Ph.D. in Basic Biomedical Science in 2010 from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (UTSW). He completed his post-doctoral training at UTSW and NIBS with Dr. Xiaodong Wang. Dr. Shen’s research interests span broad areas, including cancer biology, cancer immunology, and drug resistance mechanisms of anti-cancer targeted therapy and immunotherapy.

Zhiwei Wang joined BeiGene in April 2011 and is Senior Vice President, Research Head of Chemistry. Prior to joining BeiGene, he was Associate Director of Medicinal Chemistry at BioDuro. Dr. Wang previously worked at Novartis in San Diego as a Research Scientist in the Medicinal Chemistry Department. He also worked as Senior Scientist at Ionis Pharmaceuticals in San Diego.

Dr. Wang obtained his Ph.D degree in organic chemistry from Lanzhou University, and completed his postdoctoral training at Vanderbilt University. He is the author or co-author, and inventor or co-inventor, of more than 50 publications and patents.

Beth Wensley joined BeiGene in May of 2022. Prior to joining BeiGene, she worked in the synthetic biology field joining AI and drug discovery. Her other previous experience includes biotech and pharma in program and portfolio management leadership from research to commercialization at Aviron, MedImmune, and AstraZeneca.

Beth holds a master’s degree in business administration from Santa Clara University and a master’s degree in environmental science from the University of Washington. She also has a bachelor’s degree in biology from California Lutheran University.

Dr. Minhong Yan joined BeiGene in September 2021 and is Vice President, Head of the BeiGene Institute. Prior to Joining BeiGene, he spent more than 20 years in the research division at Genentech, after obtaining his doctorate degree in molecular and cell biology from Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Yan brings rich expertise and experience in the biotech industry. He has initiated and led various drug programs for treating cancer, inflammation, and ocular diseases. He is the inventor of numerous U.S. patents.

Dr. Yan’s research interests span broad areas, including vascular biology, cancer immunology and antibody therapy. Intended to address fundamental questions with significant scientific and therapeutic ramifications, his research work has been published in high-impact journals including Nature, Science, Immunity, and Nature Immunology.

Wendy Yan is a Senior Vice President and has served as Chief Regulatory Officer since 2014. For the previous 18 years, Ms. Yan held senior regulatory affairs positions at GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, and Bayer. Prior to that, she was a licensed pharmacist at Beijing Drug Control Institute, an organization within the former China Food and Drug Administration.

Ms. Yan received her Bachelor of Medicine from Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine University and an MBA from Staffordshire University (U.K.).

Christiane Langer, M.D. joined BeiGene in 2021 as Senior Vice President, Global Medical Affairs.

Prior to joining BeiGene, Dr. Langer served as Senior Vice President, Global Medical Affairs for AtaraBio, Vice President of Global Medical Affairs for Agios Pharmaceuticals, and a senior leader in medical positions for Roche/Genentech in both the U.S. and Germany. In these roles, she built and managed medical affairs teams, led successful launches, nurtured strong relationships, and established deep expertise around various hematology- and oncology-related indications, as well as cell therapy. Prior to these positions, Dr. Langer held positions of increasing responsibility at Bristol-Myers Squibb in the U.S. and Europe.

Dr. Langer earned her M.D. from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and spent her residency in obstetrics and gynecology with a focus on gynecologic oncology at the University Hospital Hannover, Germany. She completed postdoctoral studies on apoptosis in breast cancer under Dr. John Reed at the Burnham Institute in La Jolla, Calif.

Josh Neiman joined BeiGene in July 2018 and currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer, North America and Europe. Mr. Neiman is responsible for building and leading the commercial team and operations that will bring BeiGene’s innovative medicines to patients.
Mr. Neiman has broad U.S. and global oncology experience that spans marketing, sales, market access, lifecycle management, data and analytics. Most recently, Mr. Neiman was Vice President, Marketing at Flatiron Health from 2014 through its acquisition by Roche in 2018. Previously, Mr. Neiman served in a progression of commercial leadership roles at Onyx Pharmaceuticals and Genentech, Inc. where he was responsible for multiple aspects of commercialization for Kyprolis® (carfilzomib), Rituxan® (rituximab), Gazyva® (obinutuzumab), and Herceptin® (trastuzumab). Early in his career, Mr. Neiman worked as a research associate in drug discovery at Tao Biosciences and Plexxikon.

Mr. Neiman received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, in Molecular and Cell Biology.

Jurij Petrin joined BeiGene in 2021 and currently serves as Head of New Market Development. Before joining BeiGene, he served more than three years as Senior Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs at the contract research organization PRA Health Sciences. He previously founded two companies, Pharmaceutical Regulatory Services, a regulatory consultancy; and PRS Clinical, a CRO. While running PRS and PRS Clinical, he established a network of regulatory and clinical/medical consultants and CROs in more than 90 countries, providing strategic regulatory, clinical, and product registration support to many products in various stages of development worldwide.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Petrin spent more than nine years at Bristol Myers Squibb as Medical Director for Central and Eastern Europe, Executive Director of International Regulatory Affairs, and Vice President of Intercontinental Regulatory Science. He has also served as a consultant to PhRMA on regulatory and market-introduction policy issues for Asia Pacific, with a focus on regulatory agencies in China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia.

He received his M.D. from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and completed a research fellowship at the University of Michigan.

Hongyu Qian joined BeiGene in May 2017 and is the Senior  Vice President, Medical Affairs, Greater China. Prior to joining BeiGene, she worked in Novartis Oncology China, as the Head of Medical Affairs for 6 years and Country Head of Clinical Operation for 5 years, respectively. Mrs. Qian also worked at Novo Nordisk China and Quintiles China in roles of expending responsibility.

Mrs. Qian graduated from Capital Medical University with a B.S. in clinical medicine, and received an MBA from Peking University. Before joined the pharmaceutical industry, she worked for five years as a hospital physician, focusing on nephrology.

Adam Roach is currently VP and Head of Asia Pacific at BeiGene serving on our Executive Committee and Global Commercial Leadership Team. Mr. Roach is accountable for setting our vision in Asia Pacific, developing commercial strategies, and has P&L responsibility across our diverse markets in the region.

Mr. Roach brings a wealth of experience from Johnson & Johnson’s pharmaceutical business, where he held various leadership roles of increasing responsibility in multiple functions, including government affairs & policy, communications, market access, and commercial across Asia Pacific, EMEA, and the U.S.
Most recently before joining BeiGene, Mr. Roach served as VP and Head of Oncology for Janssen Japan leading a business of more than 400 people.

Throughout his career, Mr. Roach has demonstrated success in driving growth and business results, developing people, and engaging teams. He has a passion for people, teamwork, talent development, diversity, and inclusion.

Mr. Roach earned a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, a Master of Arts in International Relations and Politics from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Manufacturing Management from University of Technology Sydney. In addition to his role with BeiGene, Mr. Roach currently serves on the Board of Directors for Medicines Australia.

Gerwin Winter joined BeiGene in March 2021 as Senior Vice President, Head of Commercial, Europe. In this role, he is responsible for building and leading the commercial team in Europe and operations that will bring BeiGene’s innovative medicines to patients in Europe.

Mr. Winter has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for nearly three decades, with a strong focus on hematology and oncology. Most recently, Mr. Winter was Senior Vice President and Head of Europe for Portola Pharmaceuticals, building European operations from scratch from January 2019 through its acquisition by Alexion in late 2020. Previously, Mr. Winter served in a progression of several General Management roles at Celgene (six years) and Bristol-Myers Squibb (12 years) where he was responsible for multiple launches in hematology for Revlimid® (lenalidomid), Imnovid® (pomalidomid), Vidaza® (azacitidin), Sprycel® (dasatinib), and Abraxane® for breast, lung, and pancreatic cancer.

Mr. Winter founded “SAIL in Bhutan” in 2018, a non-profit healthcare organization, aiming to prevent gastric cancer in an entire country. He received a PharmD in pharmacy from the University of Munich, Germany, and a General Management MBA from CEDEP at INSEAD University of Fontainebleau, France.

Kimberly Wolf joined BeiGene in 2024 as Senior Vice President, Global Commercial Strategy & Operations responsible for leading global commercial strategy and operations.

Previously, Kimberly was at Pfizer where she oversaw the Hematology and Biosimilars Global Commercial franchise, and more recently added the Lung and Precision Medicines business. Prior to Pfizer, Kimberly held leadership positions in both Commercial roles and in Clinical Research and Development at Bristol Myers Squibb/Celgene for more than 16 years, launching assets in cell therapy, Inflammation & Immunology, and Virology. Earlier in her career, she worked at GE, Pharmacia and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.

Kimberly holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.A. in journalism from Washington and Lee University.

Eva Yin joined BeiGene in January 2022 as CCO, Greater China. Ms. Yin has 20+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with various roles in finance, HR, compliance, commercial & channel, market access, key account, retail, broad market, oncology business, and overseas assignments. She has gained deep insights into the evolving landscape and characteristics of the healthcare industry.

Prior to BeiGene, Ms. Yin worked at AstraZeneca for 15+ years, during which she held various positions including commercial & channel VP, GM of HK & Macau, GM of Oncology China, etc. In 2010, She was appointed to work overseas in the Philippines and later in Europe. In 2015, she built up businesses including retail, broad market (county), and community healthcare center committee, from scratch. In 2017, she was transferred to HK to lead HK& Macau business and relocated back to Shanghai in 2018 as GM of oncology business China. Ms. Yin also served at ELI LILLY.

Ms. Yin graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with double majors in finance & trading, and computer science. She obtained her full-time MBA from China Europe International Business School and completed an exchange program at London Business School in 2002.

Kyu-Sung Lee joined BeiGene in 2022 and serves as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Technical Operations and Manufacturing. Mr. Lee came to BeiGene from Samsung Biologics, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President, Technical Support Center; and, previously, as Executive Vice President, Manufacturing Division.

Mr. Lee brings a wealth of international manufacturing experience to BeiGene. He previously held manufacturing roles at Bristol Myers Squibb –in External Manufacturing and Global Biotechnology and Technical Operations –Merck, and Amoco Bio-Products.

Mr. Lee received his B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering from Seoul National University and his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Purdue University.

Ed Fitzgerald joined BeiGene in August 2023 as Vice President, Head of Global Engineering.

Mr. Fitzgerald brings with him a wealth of industry experience in design, construction, startup, validation, and ongoing operations of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing sites. His experience spans more than 30 years, and before joining BeiGene, he was Senior Director, Sterile Drug Product Facility Expansion at Bristol Myers Squibb in Phoenix, Arizona. He has served in engineering leadership roles at Genentech and Xellia Pharmaceuticals for the past 10 years, and prior to that, Mr. Fitzgerald served in the engineering and capital project management functions at Amgen, Immunex, Invensys/The Foxboro Co., and Dow Chemical.

Mr. Fitzgerald holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland, and he is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master.

Richard O’Keeffe joined BeiGene in May, 2023 and currently serves as Head of Global Quality, responsible for leading the teams that assure product quality in Clinical Trials, Laboratories, Manufacturing, Pharmacovigilance and Supply/Distribution across BeiGene’s network. His team is accountable of oversight, auditing and compliance of all aspects of BeiGene’s product-related business from discovery to patients.

Prior to joining BeiGene, Mr. O’Keeffe served in various roles at Amgen since 2006 in Site Quality, International & Distribution Quality and R&D Quality roles, in Ireland, Netherlands, Singapore and California. He started his career in 1990 with Schering-Plough working in QC and QA roles in Ireland and New Jersey and as Quality Head for a start-up aseptic filling plant in Singapore.

Mr. O’Keeffe holds a BSc in Biochemistry from University College, Cork (Ireland) and has been a member of the Board of Directors at Journeys Within Our Community – an educational non-profit for young adult leaders in Cambodia.

Kyoung Lim joined BeiGene in March 2022 and is the Vice President of Supply Chain. Prior to joining BeiGene, she was Vice President, Supply Chain Management for Samsung Biologics in South Korea, where she developed and implemented the vision and strategy for the supply chain operations and played a key role in establishing high performing Supply Chain & Procurement organization. She also held various positions at Lonza, including procurement, supply chain, project management, S&OP, commercial operations & analytics, portfolio management.

Ms. Lim graduated from Chungnam National University in South Korea with a B.S. in chemistry.

Shreya Jani joined BeiGene in 2021 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. In this role, she directs the company’s integrated approach to patient engagement and public health policy; social responsibility; colleague, digital and leadership communications; and media relations. Ms. Jani has a deep background in healthcare policy, as well as corporate and reputation communications, having worked in both public and private sector roles.

Prior to joining BeiGene, she worked at Pfizer, where she led Corporate Affairs for the vaccines, oncology and consumer healthcare businesses, and counselled chief executives on communications, reputation, policy and public affairs. At Pfizer, she sat on the Corporate Affairs Leadership Team and supported the advancement of Asian colleagues as a founding member of the company’s Global Asian Alliance.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Jani worked for non-profit organizations, including Margaret Sanger International and the World Health Organization in Geneva, where she focused on HIV/AIDS and reproductive health issues.

Ms. Jani serves on the Board of the National Partnership of Women and Families and has previously served as a David Rockefeller Fellow at the Partnership of NYC. She received a B.A. and MPH from New York University. Ms. Jani lives in New York with her husband and three children.

Dr. Yan Qi joined BeiGene in January 2021 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for Greater China. Dr. Qi has rich experiences across the healthcare, nutrition, and consumer industries, both in China and internationally.

Prior to joining BeiGene, Dr. Qi worked for Danone as Vice President for Global Corporate Affairs and as a Worldwide Management Board member for the Danone Specialized Nutrition business. She also worked for Johnson & Johnson and L’Oreal, where she held several leadership roles covering regulatory affairs, government affairs and policy, and scientific affairs, first for China, Asia Pacific region, then worldwide. Besides China, Dr. Qi has also worked in the U.S. and several countries in Europe, including the Netherlands and France. Dr. Qi holds several leadership positions in industry associations and organizations.

John V. Oyler co-founded BeiGene in 2010. He has served as CEO and has led the Board of Directors from the company’s start.

Mr. Oyler previously served as President and CEO of BioDuro, LLC, a drug discovery services company, from 2004 its acquisition by PPD in 2010. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Oyler served as CEO of Galenea Corp., a biopharmaceutical company discovering novel therapies for central nervous system diseases. From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Oyler was the President of Telephia, Inc., an information company he founded and ultimately was acquired by The Nielsen Company. From 1997 to 1998, Mr. Oyler was Co-Chief Executive Officer of Genta Incorporated (NASDAQ: GNTA), an oncology-focused biopharmaceutical company. He began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Mr. Oyler joined the Board of Directors of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) in 2019 and is a member of its Health Section Governing Board. He also serves on the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council. Mr. Oyler received his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from Stanford University. A native of Pittsburgh, he is an avid fan of the city’s Steelers football team and Penguins hockey team, and enjoys skiing and spending time with his family.

Xiaodong Wang, Ph.D. is a co-founder of BeiGene and has served as Chairman of our Scientific Advisory Board since 2011. Dr. Wang has been on the Board of Directors since February 2016.

Dr. Wang is the founding Director of the National Institute of Biological Sciences in Beijing, serving since 2003, and became its Director and Investigator in 2010. He previously served as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator (1997-2010) and was the George L. MacGregor Distinguished Chair Professor in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas (2001-2010).

Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and B.S. in biology from Beijing Normal University. In 2004 Dr. Wang became a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences – one of the highest honors attainable by an American scientist – and has been a foreign associate of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2013.

Olivier Brandicourt, M.D., joined our Board of Directors in January 2024.

Dr. Brandicourt has decades of management, medical and marketing experience in the global pharmaceutical industry, including as a senior leader of three global pharmaceutical companies. From 2015 to 2019, Dr. Brandicourt served as Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the board of directors of Sanofi S.A. Prior to Sanofi, he was the Chief Executive Officer and Chair of Bayer HealthCare AG from 2013 to 2015. From 2000 to 2013, Dr. Brandicourt served in various operational and managerial positions at Pfizer Inc., including as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and President and General Manager of the Emerging Markets and Established Products business units, amongst other roles. Dr. Brandicourt is currently a Senior Advisor at Blackstone Life Sciences, and serves as a board director of Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, AvenCell Therapeutics (Chair), BenevolentAI S.A., and Dewpoint Therapeutics.

Dr. Brandicourt studied medicine in Paris where he specialized in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine and holds a Master’s Degree in Biology and an Advanced Degree in Cellular and Immunological Pathophysiology. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London.

Margaret Dugan, M.D., joined our Board of Directors in February 2022.

Dr. Dugan has served as Chief Medical Officer of Dracen Pharmaceuticals since 2018. Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President at Novartis Oncology, responsible for global strategic drug development and portfolio management, including translational science, early- and late-stage clinical development, life cycle management and companion diagnostic development that resulted in several regulatory filings and approvals. For five years, Dr. Dugan led the Novartis Exploratory Oncology Development Group, which transitioned compounds from discovery to proof-of-concept in the clinic, and has also held several development positions at Schering-Plough (now Merck & Co.) and American Cyanamid (now Pfizer).

Dr. Dugan received her B.A. and M.D. and training in hematology and oncology from New York University.

Donald W. Glazer has served as a member of our Board of Directors since 2013.

Mr. Glazer has been a member of the Board of Trustees of GMO Trust since 2000, and from 1997 to the present he has served as Advisory Counsel to Goodwin Procter LLP. He is Provant, Inc.’s Co-Founder, as well as former Secretary and Vice Chairman. He was President of Mugar/Glazer Holdings, and during his tenure there served as Vice Chairman-Finance of New England Television Corp and WHDH-TV, Inc. Mr. Glazer was an associate and partner at Ropes & Gray LLP. He is a past Lecturer in Law at Harvard Law School, and former editor of the Harvard Law Review. He has served on numerous boards and co-authored legal texts.

Mr. Glazer received his A.B. from Dartmouth College, J.D. from Harvard Law School, and L.L.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Michael Goller has served as a member of our Board of Directors since 2015.

Mr. Goller has been with Baker Bros. Advisors LP since 2005 and currently serves as a Partner. Prior to joining Baker Bros., Mr. Goller was an Associate for JPMorgan Partners, LLC, where he focused on venture investments in the life sciences sector. Mr. Goller began his career as an investment banker with Merrill Lynch and Co. in 1997.

He holds a B.S. in molecular and cell biology from The Pennsylvania State University and master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in Biotechnology (from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences) and Business Administration (from the Wharton School).

Anthony Hooper joined our Board of Directors in 2020 upon retiring from Amgen, where he served as Executive Vice President, Global Commercial Operations, from 2011 to 2018.

Prior to Amgen, Mr. Hooper was Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and President, U.S., Japan and Intercontinental, at Bristol Myers Squibb Company (BMS). Mr. Hooper held senior leadership positions at BMS over a more than 15-year tenure, including President, Americas and President, U.S. Pharmaceuticals, Worldwide Pharmaceuticals Group, a division of BMS. Prior to joining BMS, Mr. Hooper was Assistant Vice President of Global Marketing for Wyeth Laboratories. He currently serves on the board of directors for MannKind Corporation.

Mr. Hooper earned law and MBA degrees from the University of South Africa.

Ranjeev Krishana has served as a member of our Board of Directors since 2014.

Mr. Krishana has been with Baker Bros. Advisors LP since 2011 and currently serves as Head of International Investments. Prior to joining Baker Bros., Mr. Krishana held a series of commercial, strategy, and business development leadership roles for Pfizer’s pharmaceutical business across a variety of international regions and markets, including Asia, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Krishana was based in Beijing, China, where he served as a Senior Director and a member of the Pfizer China Leadership Team. Mr. Krishana began his career as a strategy consultant at Accenture plc.

Mr. Krishana holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Brown University, and a master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard University.

Michael Nuoqing Yi has served as a member of our Board of Directors since 2014.

A Partner at Hillhouse Capital, he is a founding member of the firm and heads its healthcare investing. He is credited with establishing a China joint venture with Mayo Clinic-Huimei Healthcare. Prior to joining Hillhouse, Mr. Yi was an equity research analyst for China International Capital Corporation.

He holds a B.S. in engineering from Shanghai Maritime University, and an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.

Alessandro Riva, M.D., joined our Board of Directors in February 2022.

Dr. Riva is Chief Executive Officer of Intima Bioscience, a privately held clinical-stage gene and cell therapy company and serves on the Board of Directors of Century Therapeutics, a NASDAQ-listed biotechnology company developing innovative iPSC-derived NK and T cell therapies. Prior to joining Intima, he served as Chief Executive Officer at privately held Ichnos Sciences, where he built a biotechnology company focused on bi- and tri-specific antibodies in oncology and biologics in autoimmune diseases.

Before Ichnos, he was Executive Vice President and Global Head of Oncology Therapeutics and Cell & Gene Therapy at Gilead Sciences, where he was instrumental in the acquisition of Kite Pharma. Prior to Gilead, Dr. Riva was Executive Vice President and Global Head of Oncology Development and Medical Affairs at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, where he contributed significantly to the Oncology Business Unit and the Cell and Gene Therapy Unit. He was also interim President of Novartis Oncology during the acquisition of GSK Oncology. He previously held roles at Farmitalia Carlo Erba, Rhône-Poulenc Rorer and Aventis, and co-founded the Breast Cancer International Research Group (BCIRG) and the Cancer International Research Group (CIRG), where he served as CEO.

He received his M.D. in medicine and surgery from the University of Milan and a board certification in oncology and hematology from the same institution.

Corsee Sanders, Ph.D., joined our Board of Directors in 2020.

Most recently, Dr. Sanders served as Strategic Advisor to the Office of the Celgene Chief Medical Officer and Transition Advisor to Bristol Myers Squibb. Prior to that, she was a member of the executive committee at Juno Therapeutics and served as Executive Vice President of Development Operations. Dr. Sanders previously held several senior leadership positions at Genentech/Roche, including Global Head of Biometrics and Global Head of Clinical Operations. She additionally was Co-Chair of the Roche-Chugai Joint Portfolio Management Committee. Dr. Sanders currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and on the board of directors of Molecular Templates Inc., Legend Biotech Corporation, and AltruBio (formerly AbGenomics) Inc.

Dr. Sanders holds a B.S. and M.S. in statistics from the University of the Philippines, as well as an M.A. and a Ph.D. in statistics from the Wharton Doctoral Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Young is BeiGene’s Acting Head of Medicinal Chemistry.

Dr. Young has deep and broad experience in medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical R&D, having developed compounds across a wide range of therapeutic areas. He led the chemistry research teams that delivered widely prescribed HIV drugs efavirenz and raltegravir. He previously served as the Vice President of Basic Research and Head of Medicinal Chemistry at Merck Research Laboratories, where his research focused on the design and synthesis of small-molecule antiviral compounds targeting the HIV protease, reverse transcriptase, and integrase enzymes as chemotherapeutic agents.

Dr. Young is a member of the Medicinal Chemistry Section of the American Chemical Society, AAAS, Sigma Xi, and Scientific Advisory Boards for the University of Pennsylvania and University of California, Berkeley. He has been awarded 34 U.S. patents for a variety of drug candidates. Dr. Young earned a B.S. from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley.

Dr. Levy is the Robert K. Summy and Helen K. Summy Professor of Medicine, Director of the Lymphoma Program, and former Chief of the Division of Oncology, at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is also the Associate Director of Translational Science for the Stanford Cancer Institute.

Dr. Levy led research, spanning more than two decades, focused on monoclonal antibodies and malignant lymphoma. He has used innovations in immunology and molecular biology to gain a better understanding of the initiation and progression of the malignant process. Dr. Levy was the first to successfully treat cancer with a monoclonal antibody, and he went on to help develop rituximab (Rituxan®) to treat patients with resistant low-grade lymphomas.

Dr. Levy is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine. He received an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Harvard University and an M.D. from Stanford University.

Dr. Rosen is a Member in the Department of Medicine and in the Molecular Pharmacology and Chemistry Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he serves as Head of Developmental Therapeutics. He is also a Professor of Pharmacology, Cell Biology and Medicine at Cornell University Medical School.

His major interests include the study of key molecular events and growth signaling pathways responsible for cancer development and the use of this information for developing mechanism-based therapeutic strategies. He played an important role in the development of tyrosine kinase-mediated signaling inhibitors, having pioneered the concept that cancer cells are dependent on cellular machinery for protein folding.

Dr. Rosen received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Columbia College and an M.D. and Ph.D. in molecular biology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed postdoctoral training and a fellowship in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute. He was on the senior staff of the Medicine Branch at the NCI prior to joining the faculty of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Sawyers is an Investigator for the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Marie-Josée and Henry R. Kravis Chair in Human Oncology and Pathogenesis, and Chair of the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

A leading researcher in molecularly targeted approaches to treat cancer, Dr. Sawyers has identified cell signaling components critical to the growth of cancer cells in chronic myeloid leukemia, prostate and other cancers. His efforts have led to the development of multiple FDA-approved inhibitors in clinical use today, including imatinib for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia and the antiandrogen drug enzalutamide for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. Dr. Sawyers is a former AACR president and was elected to the 2014 class of Fellows of the AACR Academy. He assumed the Presidency of AACR Academy in 2021.

Dr. Sawyers received a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Schenkein is a hematologist, medical oncologist, and entrepreneur. He serves as an adjunct clinical professor in hematology at Tufts Medical Center and a general partner at GV (formerly Google Ventures), where he co-leads the life science investment team.

He previously served as CEO and chairman of Agios, and Senior Vice President of Clinical Hematology/Oncology at Genentech, Inc. Dr. Schenkein was responsible for numerous successful oncology drug approvals while at Genentech, and concurrently served as an adjunct clinical professor of medical oncology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Prior to joining Genentech, he served as the Senior Vice President of Clinical Research at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceuticals Company Limited), overseeing the clinical development and worldwide approval of VELCADE®, a cancer therapy for treating multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He currently serves on the board of directors of several biopharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Schenkein holds a B.A. in chemistry from Wesleyan University and an M.D. from the State University of New York Upstate Medical School.
